Disney's Aladdin Software

Disney's Aladdin (Mega Drive)

Unique for the 2D sprites being hand drawn by the Disney animators themselves, Virgin and Disney's Aladdin on Sega is arguably better looking than Capcom's edition on the SNES, who were themselves some of the best 2D artists around.

An adventure is born from love. Love flourishes through the adventure.

Long ago, in the Arabian City of Agrabah...

The poor, kind hearted young man known as Aladdin unraveled a huge and fantastic adventure!! Combine your strength along with your the supernatural being of the lamp, Genie, your magical carpet and your pal Abu in a huge outing!!

Disney's Aladdin (Game Gear)

The grimacing Jafar dominates the Game Gear cover. The text on the back is largely the same, but the Mega Drive references to Aladdin's buddies have been omitted  The graphics are still quite good for an 8-bit handheld, featuring large, colorful sprites and a particularly impressive giant cobra boss.

Disney's Aladdin (Super Famicom)

Without the direct assistance of Disney themselves, Capcom's take on Aladdin featured visuals less accurate to the movie, but were still gorgeous, as the company was arguably the world's best 2D sprite artists in the mid-90s. I remember borrowing this game from a friend and found it to be fantastic for a licensed platformer.

The Arabian tale of love and adventure.

An amazing encounter was waiting to happen in the mysterious and alluring city of Agrabah. Aladdin, a poor boy with a diamond for a heart...one of a kind in this land. And Jasmine, the beautiful daughter of the King of Agrabah. Though they appear quite different, they don't clash in their state of mind: the dream of freedom. Before long, romance and love begins to bloom between them. Hindered by the corrupt minister Jafar, a cave of sorcery and other obstacles, your cheerful friends combine their powers and attempt to overcome all that stand in their way. The legend of Aladdin reemerges in this romantic adventure.
