Squaresoft Software (Other)

Brave Fencer Musashi / Brave Fencer Musashiden

More minimalistic than the American packaging, simply showcasing Musashi and providing a glimpse into the charming world within the game. I bought this exclusively to play the FFVIII demo and ended up falling in love with the game despite it's rather awkward playability.

One misfortune after another. A succession of crisis upon crisis!

Parasite Eve

Gotta love the minimalistic cover design for Square's "Cinematic RPG". I'm personally rather squeamish over horror themed games, but have a soft spot for this one just for it's music and vibe.

The plans of a billion years prior, have now been resuscitated. There's beauty...then a turn for the gruesome.

Parasite Eve II

The cold, pale green exposure of Parasite Eve II's cover predates that of Silent Hill 2's iconic package by a couple years. Even though both the Japanese and American cover use the same portrait of Aya, the black background and coloring here is far more effective at setting the mood.

Spine Card:
Cinematic Adventure. Parasite Eve 2. Do not hesitate. Whatever is moving, shoot.

Back:
From the moment you step onto the stage, the real time fighting continues, now with a new fighting system. Responding to the scenes, witness a variety of changes within the camera work. In this cinematic adventure, witnessing the physical transformations will have you trembling for the second time. This is no longer an unresolved incident. This is war.

Tobal No. 1

Akira Toriyama's colorful, lively artwork graces the Japanese cover for Tobal 1, while the US cover went with a 3D render based on his style. I don't believe I've played this game, but got a big kick out of the American marketing depicting Crash Bandicoot talking trash outside of Nintendo of America headquarters.

Spinecard:
Includes the Final Fantasy VII demo CD-ROM.
Before it's release, catch what's taking the world by storm! Also, it's packed with news on the latest Square software. Includes the titles Final Fantasy Tactics, SaGa Frontier and Bushido Blade.

Back:
The birth...of new three dimensional fighting action! Battle freely within a 360 degree field. Character designs are by Akira Toriyama!

It's not just the front you have to deal with. Feely move around to the side and back. Simple handling within the 3D environment  allowing you to move and attack as you'd like, you've never felt actual fighting like this, until now.

Having pursued a new sense of realism, the 'new dimension' of fighting action is finally here!

Tobal 2
Nary a word of Japanese is used for the Tobal 2 packaging outside of the legalese. Lots of gamers were puzzled by this game never coming to the west, as it was regarded as a massively improved sequel and possibly having the best graphics on the PS1 period.

Treasure Hunter G
Infamously the final Super Famicom game to be published by Square, this SRPG sports some wildly good graphics not far off from the early 2D seen on the PS1. Developed by Sting Entertainment, more well known for other SRPGs such as Yggrda Union and Riviera. Translation note: The game's box specifically references the term Out-of-place artifacts. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out-of-place_artifact for more information and context
.

Solve the mystery of the 7 mysterious treasures(OOPArts, Out-of-place artifacts)!
