Street Fighter Alpha / Zero 1-3

Street Fighter Alpha / Zero
Here's the translation for the PS1 and Saturn packages of Street Fighter Zero / Alpha. I can still distinctively remember being taken aback when first walking up to it at the arcade. The feminine portrayal of Ken on the cabinet really didn't jive with me at the time, but that was quickly forgotten when witnessing how amazing the game looked. Sagat's sprite in particular was super intimidating!

(Text for the Sega Saturn packaging is identical to the PS1 packaging.)

Street Fighter Alpha / Zero 2 (Saturn / PlayStation)

For the Zero 2 cover, Sakura is given prominent space and Dan even looks like a serious character! The PlayStation versions sports identical text but different cover and back art. While both covers are excellent, I prefer the PS1 take by far. I can still remember visiting a Best Buy in 1996 and first laying eyes on the intense face off between Ryu and Akuma!

- The popular arcade game 'Street Fighter Zero 2' has been faithfully ported! Enjoy the 'taste' of the arcade game at any time!

- Zero 2's original female high school student, Sakura, gets her start here...one of 5 new characters!

(Secret characters) Vega (Bison), Gouki (Akuma) and Dan from the previous game have also been added (to the main roster), bringing the playable characters to a total of 18.

-A polished game system! Ease of play and strategy has been thoroughly inspected! Previous techniques are brought over, such as the Super Combo and Zero Counter.

- There are limitless possibilities with the 'Original Combo System'! What fighting game fans have been waiting for, the ability to create your own chain combos, is a reality!

Street Fighter Alpha / Zero 2 (Super Famicom)

Really wild to see a CPS2 game ported to a 16-bit system when even the PS1 or Saturn couldn't quite pull it off. Released shortly after the 32-bit versions, the back of the package contains some additional text.

The beginning of ZERO, and also the continuation towards the infinite...

Street Fighter Alpha / Zero 3 (PS1)

The new (and freshly returning) characters completely dominate the front and back of the PS1 cover. Even as a proud Saturn owner, all the work that went into the PlayStation port was quite a feat. Even with truly arcade perfect ports available on later systems, I long for the extras of the PS1 version and hope they'll make their way into a future compilation.
