Fatal Fury / Garou Densetsu 1-2

Fatal Fury / Garou Densetsu (Sega Mega Drive / Genesis)

Full of energy, color and sinew, the first cover for the Fatal Fury matched perfectly with the likes of the Streets of Rage series. Not on sale in an territory until 1993, a fighter with only 3 playable characters would have been a hard sell. Still, it had still some time before SFII Championship Edition / Dash finally arrived later that year.

Your fangs are polished!!

Your fighting spirit is invigorated!!

In each of these fighters...is the heart to transform into a Hungry "Wolf"!!

Fatal Fury / Garou Densetsu (Super Famicom / Mega Drive)

A more brooding and mysterious mood for the Super Famicom artwork. This otherwise decent fighter again msised the mark by going on sale after the revolutionary Street Fighter II made its way to Nintendo's 16-bit system. I imagine at least a few children around the world were disappointed to be gifted this after a sales person convinced their parents to purchase it when copies of SF2 were sold out.

Check out the authentic fighters.

Who will be left victorious in battle!?

"The King of Fighters"

Utilizing all kinds of styles, the world's strongest fighters meet in a grand tournamenth where destiny will be decided. In order to avenge the death of their father at the hands of Geese Howard, Terry and Andy Bogard enter...

Also, looking to test his strength, Joe Higashi appears.

These are the hungry wolves, baring their fangs. Who will win in the battle of destiny!?

Fatal Fury / Garou Densetsu (Neo Geo)

I would like to translate the Neo Geo packaging for Fatal Fury, but am unable to find pictures/scans that are entirely legible. The text below in particular is too blurry for me to read. If you can find an image of Neo Geo packaging with a clear image of this text, please contact me and I will add a translation!

Fatal Fury 2 (Neo Geo)

Back in the early 90s, Fatal Fury 2 felt like the most legitimate Street Fighter II clone, even though it was eclipsed by the Mortal Kombat series. I remember the arcade I frequented had two SFII cabinets to satiate demand, meanwhile the near by Neo Geo housing FF2 would often go unplayed.

In the strongest martial arts tournament, the 'King of the Fighters, the legendary men have once again returned...

CRASH! The Real 100 Megabit Fighters. Who is the tournament sponsor, and what is the true goal? Unique '2 line battles' and numerous gorgeous techniques undergoing a 'super evolution.' 8 fighters show up to the challenge in this 'New Fight'!

Choose from 8 fighters!
Identical characters can battle.

Kim Kaphwan - The Man of Taekwondo with heated blood running through his muscles.

Jubei Yamada - The Demon of Judo, intimidating enough to quiet a crying child.

Mai Shiranui - The Alluring Kunoichi

Andy Bogard - The Kappo Specialist

Terry Bogard - The Martial Arts Master

Joe Higashi - The Youthful Muay Thai Champ

Cheng Sinzan - A practitioner of Tai Chi with a robust economic spirit.

* Simple, yet deep. Unrivaled controllability has been implemented. Don't overlook this detail production!

Fatal Fury 2 (Sharp X68000)
The X68000 versions has near identical artwork an packaging text as the Neo Geo version. Something very interesting, posted on the yellow circle on the back, is that this version allows you to play as the four bosses.

'The Emperor of Darkness' and the 3 Warriors are included. Choose from 12 fighters! Identical characters in versus mode enabled.

Fatal Fury 2 (Super Famicom)
Despite this being considered quite a decent port by Takara, the packaging eschews any screenshots for what SNK is often best at, incredible artwork.
