Ridge Racer Series (1994-2000) Japanese Packaging / Box Art Translations

Ridge Racer (12.3.94)

One of the most exciting launch titles in gaming history, Ridge Racer was amazing to experience in your home in 1995, even if downgraded from the much more powerful System 22 arcade hardware. Like Namco's other famous PlayStation series, Tekken, the aged mid-90s CG have a special nostalgic charm nowadays...

The excitement of a flat-out speed race is in your hands...

Flowing sounds, beautiful scenery... The "super real" scenes of Ridge Racer reappear faithfully on the PlayStation!! Run full speed in the familiar town for a refreshing drive. A new age has arrived in this EXTREME racing game!

Ridge Racer Revolution (12.3.95)

Once again featuring colorful front artwork and a checkerboard pattern for the back, Ridge Racer Revolution was an all around upgrade over Ridge Racer. I had lots of fun playing this on a demo disk that came with the PS1 I received in 1997.

Only the chosen ones, will likely experience the thrills...

Intense ups and downs.

Sharp bank corners.

Spot the passing points

Be in full command of your shifting work.

The urgency of close combat fighting.

A dead heat which will have you breathless with suspense.

Sharpening your technique to obtain an even "hotter" car.

The roaring engine which brings uncompromising power.

Have there even been a racing game so fixated on the experience of driving?

R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 (12.3.98)

One of the PlayStation's crowning achievements during its later years, Namco took Ridge Racer to a new level with the ultra stylish, graphically stunning R4. Soon after release, they would already be hard at work on the PlayStation 2's RRV.

The winner is the one who keeps their cool as they experience the exhilarating high speed controls, while striving for victory until reaching the goal.
