Populous (Super Famicom) (12.16.90)
Really eye popping box art by David John Rowe. Reading about this game in Nintendo Power, I remember being very intimidates to try it, similar to Sim City. In the American Super Nintendo release, references to God were replaced by a single mention of "Supreme Being".

The land, sea and world come alive with a grand splendor. Will humans...ever be able to surpass God!?
As the player, your mission is take on the omnipotent powers of God...
As God, you watch over Earth from the Heavens, bringing forth various miracles, battling evil and working to unify humanity.
In the Super Famicom version of Populous, 4 original worlds have been added, including Edo Japan and the French Revolution for a total of 10 Populous Worlds.
As God the Almighty, will you be able to rule over every world? And finally, will you be able to win the honor of being 'God among the Gods'?
(Left caption) While watching over people as God, you'll continually be engaged in battle.
(Center caption) God's miracles include setting off Earthquakes, calling forth floods and creating volcanos.
(Right caption) The cookie house, created by mice. One of the unique worlds of the game.
