Klonoa of the Wind: Door to Phantomile Japanese Packaging / Box Art Translation

Klonoa of the Wind: Door to Phantomile (12.11.1997)

Klonoa's debut on the PS1 was a critically acclaimed 'hidden gem'. While playing like a 2D platformer, it made brilliant use of a shifting perspective as the whole world was rendered by polygons. With a low print run and never joining the PS Greatest Hits lineup, I remember the game being notoriously expensive even during the 90s.

Spine Card:

A dramatic action game, drawn on a majestic scale.

Back:

(Top left) Grandpa.

This youngster's name is Klonoa. He lives together with his grandpa, the elder of the Wind Village, Breezegale. There, Klonoa is always wandering around the plains with his childhood best friend, Huepow.

Able to use the power of the wind, his ears capture the breeze and flap like wings.

Huepow, the ring spirit, adds to Klonoa's power. He fires [Wind Bullets] at enemies and can also inflate his body.

One day, a flying ship crashed on Bell Hill!

(Klonoa action caption) Let's go, Klonoa!

Your heart will race and pound as these two set off through the world!
