Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon Japanese Packaging / Box Art Translation

Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon (9.19.93)

In some quite impressive 'back of the box' marketing, Enix effectively addresses the many concerns players had upon learning DQIV's Torneko received a spin-off into an unusual rouge-like RPG.

The RPG you play 1000 times, is here!

Although it's called an RPG, this game is a bit different. While when you begin to play,  the image seems like other RPGs up until now, you may be surprised. The story is not long, nor is there a wide field to walk across. What's in front of Torneko...is a continuous dungeon. All there is...is the cave's entrance.

The dungeon's form changes each time!?

This dungeon, is a fascinating dungeon...changing it's form with each play. The items you obtain, the monsters you meet...are varied with each play. Items and monsters are woven together by pure coincidence, for limitless scenarios. However, no matter how many times you are able to return for a challenge, you'll have fun every time. Even if you manage to clear it, we think you'll certainly wish to challenge yourself again.

A new challenge begins from Level 1!?

If you fall over from exhaustion during the adventure, Torneko goes back to Level 1, starting from zero. This may sound painful to hear. But, that makes things all the more fun, all the more thrilling!

The player's level is raised!?

While Torneko's level may return back to 1, it's possible the player came to understand several things that happened during the adventure. How to use items...how to defeat enemies... Summing it up, you can say it's not Torneko, but the player, that levels up.
