Darkstalkers / Vampire: The Night Warriors (Playstation) (3.22.96)
The perfect game for Halloween, or any time really, Capcom's Darkstalkers is still one of the pinnacle works of 2D animation. Gorgeous in the arcade, and surprisingly solid on the PS1. If you have any modern system, definitely spend the $1-2 to download this classic.
Front:
Astounding animation, thrilling special moves! This is super fighting action from the warriors of darkness!!
Back:
The grand, life or death struggle of the Darkstalkers...now begins!
The Darkstalkers are the warriors of darkness that humans call monsters out of fear. A mysterious, compelling voice has woken them from their slumber. "Awaken, and bare your fangs!" The resurrected monsters have been called to tear through the night.
* Super beautiful graphics and animation create extra-ordinarily dramatic fighting!
* 10 distinctly individual playable characters. Vampire, mummies and more!
* New system: Charge your gauge to unleash special desperation moves. Tear through the darkness!
* Executing the powerful "Chain Combo" attacks depends on your timing. This will make all the difference in battle!
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge / Vampire Hunter (Saturn) (2.23.96)
Throughout the 90s, this upgraded Darkstalkers sequel was a Saturn exclusive port, while the PS1 had the original to call its own. Not too surprisingly, the PS1 had some development difficulties and the Saturn game actually came out first, to the annoyance of some PS1 owners.

Vampire Savior (Sega Saturn) (4.16.98)
One of the Saturn's hottest imports, I was thrilled to walk into an Electronics Boutique in the late 90s, pay just $40, and walk out with one of Capcom's most stylish fighters of all time...

Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower / Vampire Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (12.12.04)
Arguably the series' last big hurrah, Chaos Tower was considered a killer app for Sony's PSP. Excellent Darkstalkers compilations have continued to be released into the 2020s, but under the guise of being decades old retro games. Hopefully some 'fresh blood' will return to this deserving series in the near future.

Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection (5.19.05)
Along with the PS2 collection of Street Fighter Zero games, this wonderful compilation of Capcom fighting classics tragically missed out on a US release. Not until 2022's Capcom Fighting Collection did the west receive perfect ports of the Darkstalkers series.
