Releasing to negative reception over its quality, Athena is still quite notable for starring a female protagonist. Being the 80s, of course she was gratuitously underdressed. Variations of the catchy theme song accompanied her many KOF appearances.

Princess Athena, enjoying an adventure, opens up a forbidden door in the underground room of a castle, venturing off into a world of fantasy. Utilizing weapons that appear one after another, she knocks out the henchmen of Emperor Dante impeding her way in order to progress forward through the small world. Well, let's see if you'll be able to take out Emperor Dante and safely make your way back to the castle...
