Yoshi's Story Japanese Packaging / Box Art Translation

Yoshi's Story (12.21.97)

The first game to really embracement the craft aesthetics later expanded on Yoshi's Wooly World and Crafted World. While the American package featured a 3D render playing to the system's strengths, the Japanese version doubled down on the knitting look featured in the game. (Translation note: Chibi is a distinctive Japanese character artstyle emphasizing small bodies and cute, exaggerated proportions.)

The world of picture books unfolds in this 'hand made' world. The astonishing power of the N64 brings forth a beautiful graphical explosion!

Through magic, the island dwelling of the Yoshis has been turned into a picture book! Clay is piled on to the screen, as is cardboard. 'Turn over the pages' to change the material. Rotating the 3D stick, the very colorful chibi Yoshi's head off towards fruit eating action! Be sure to get get a taste of Koopa!
