Super Mario Bros. (9.13.85)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (6.3.86)
This first two games have little in the way of translatable material, being early Famicom and Disk System games with minimal ad copy. For completion sake, and just being beautiful to view, I couldn't resist posting them anyway.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (10.23.88)
Even though the minimalist US cover with the yellow background is iconic, the JP Mario 3 cover is even better as he's being pursued by the still rather odd looking Bowser and his kids. Both Mario 3 and World tried to coin the term 'Technical Fantasy Game'.

A 3 megabit class technical fantasy game.
You've been waiting for it. The third entry to Super Mario Brothers is finally here! In the third confrontation against the Koopa Army, the stage moves from the Mushroom Kingdom to the Mushroom World. Now the children of the Evil King Koopa, the seven Koopa siblings, have traveled all over the Mushroom World to indulge in whatever pranks they wish. They've even gone so far as to steal the magical staffs from the rulers of seven countries...transforming them into animals! In order to return peace to the Mushroom World, Princess Peach has sent Mario and Luigi off on an adventure!
(1) A map screen has been added
(2) More powerful enemies.
(3) Introducing Tail Mario.
(4) Chase after flying ships.
(5) Battle the little Koopas!
