Super Mario RPG (SNES / Super Famicom)
Another 'Dream Project' along the lines of Chrono Trigger, Nintendo teamed up with Square in their very prime to produce the first game in the Super Mario RPG series. Later games would be quite different, but may not have even been made if not for this.. It's almost eerie that just months after handling Nintendo's most famous IP, Square would head off to work with Sony for the entirety of the next generation.

It always appears that Mario heads to Koopa Castle.
However, from now on, things are different from the past...in the series' first RPG, the stage unfolds as Mario goes on a grand adventure!
