Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario Collection (7.14.93)
Mario also dons his top-hat in the Japanese version of Miro All-Stars, and gets gold plated as well. I remember getting this game as a 10 year old, and being rather disappointed with it. While it was a fantastic value and the all games were indeed technically superior, I preferred the look of the NES games I grew up with, especially Mario 3. Regardless, many prefer the All-Stars/Collection versions, and it even got sold once again as a stand alone Wii release.
